Apply an anaesthetic cream to the treated area to reduce the discomfort of the needle prick. The doctor or assistant will then take a blood sample from the patient. This is usually only a few millilitres, similar to a simple blood sample. The blood sample is centrifuged, during which the platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is separated from the other blood elements and can be seen with the naked eye. This is the most valuable part of the centrifuged blood for skin rejuvenation and only 1% of the blood drawn.
